A family business for 104 years this year!
For 104 years, my family has offered antiques of all varieties. The elements of business I have been handed down are that of honesty & integrity. I stand behind all items I offer for sale and I try to describe them as best as I can.
Newest addition. See it on the New Items page.
Bluebill decoy by Capt. Harry Jobes (1936-2019), Havre de Grace, MD. Signed on bottom. Very good condition. 14" long.
Larger silhouette of a gentleman in a top hat. Mahogany veneered frame. Excellent condition. 19th century. 15 1/4" X 12 1/8".
Large unsigned stoneware jug. Small base chip. 19th century. 20 1/2" X 12".
Large red firkin in very good condition. Finger lapped construction of banding. Pine and poplar. Probably late 19th century. 11 3/4" H X 13" base.
Very nice pair of painted silhouettes with bronzing effect. Excellent condition. 19th century. 5 1/2" X 5" and 5 1/2" X 4 3/4".
Untouched from 30 years in storage is this landscape oil on canvas by George W. Drew. Signed in the lower left corner, this canvas has one small canvas repair. The dramatic sky is framed by two trees and reflected in a pond. It maintains what appears to be the original 3-part frame. It probably dates to the first quarter of the 20th century. Overall 24 3/4" X 36 3/4". Sight 17 1/2" X 29 1/2".
Very colorful splint basket. There are a few binding losses but the dry surface and bright colors are super. Probably 19th or early 20th century. 13” W X 9” H.
This is a terrific late 19th/early 20th century whirligig. Red and white with dark hair and eyes. He is missing his right toes and some of the original paint. The base is contructed of a pully wheel on a wood block. He's diminutive at 12 1/2" high but his "arms" measure 16" tip to tip. Probably southern states.
A matched pair of hand-painted building signs. These signs were supposedly from a building in Waltham, MA. However, Jackson Square is located in Jamaica Plain, MA. There are a couple of minor dings on the points of the sides and I believe the cleats were added later, as there are outlines of previous mounting brackets. In the sunlight, the color is bright, as you can see. Pine. Early 20th century.
Pair of cast hitching post horse heads. Nicely graphic and in very good condition. Late 19th or early 20th century. 13" high.
Miniature portrait of a gentleman with blue eyes and a double breasted coat. Some illegible history on reverse. Ca. 1827-1837. 5 1/2" X 4 5/8".
3 Gallon crock by Somerset Pottersworks, Somerset, MA. This pottery ran 1847-1882. A couple of small rim chips and a small 1-2" hairline. 10" H X 11 1/8" W.
Redhead decoy signed by Steven R. Lay, Havre de Grace, MD. 1976. Excellent condition. Steven Lay began carving decoys at 15. He worked with Madison Mitchell and Jim Pierce. 13" long.
Early bannister back arm chair. Refinished some time ago, this chair once had rockers but they have been removed and the legs plugged. One arm has an old plug at the top of the post. Structurally sound. Ca. 1750-1780. 46 1/2" H X 24" W X 18 1/2" D. Seat 17".
