Adornments II

Hooked hearth rug. Floral design with excellent color. Professionally mounted. New England, late 19th century. Excellent condition. H 34-1/2" W 61-1/2"


Adam & Eve sampler. Mary Suffield Work Age 12 June 29 1836. “Be thou faithful unto Death And I will give the A Crown of life”. Many interesting elements are included in this sampler including angels, animals, fruit, and flowers. There is some discoloration, particularly on the left side and the “U” in Suffield has loss.  Otherwise in very good condition. The frame is solid. It measures 20” X 20” sight. Overall 25 ¾” X 25 ¾”.


Bentwood box with floral and vine original decoration. Untouched surface. Probably ash or oak. Minor split to the rim of the top (stable) and a small nick on the base (1/2" X 1/16"). Mid to late 19th century. 6 3/8" round X 2 1/2" high. Top is 6 5/8" round X 1" high.


Lustre pitcher with two hunting scenes and landscape in relief. The top is banded with grapes and there is an angel figure on the handle. Ex. Wynn A. Sayman with label. Ex. D.M. Manheim. Excellent condition. Ca. 1815. 5" H X 6 1/2" W including handle. On a personal note, I knew Wynn Sayman who passed in 2015. He was a great collector/dealer and a gentleman.


A Lustre jug with (2) hunting scenes. There are hunters and dogs with the top banded in grape leaves, all in relief. There is some wear of color. It maintains a collection label. First quarter 19th century. 6 5/8” H 7”W including handle. 


A Lustre Jug with a deer family and trees. The stag is on one side and the lady and youngster on the other. The top is banded with a flower design. All are in relief. It maintains a collection label under the base. This jug is pictured and described in color in “Old English Lustre Pottery” by W.D. Jones & Dr. Warren Baker, Pages 84 & 85. Ca. 1815-1820 6 ¼”H X 7 ¼”W including handle


Sweet little Charlestown stoneware jug. Very nice condition. 19th century. 9" H X 5 1/2" W.


Here is a 5-gallon crock by T.F. Reppert, Greensboro, PA. Thomas Reppert worked in Greensboro 1884-1890. The top slumps a little, otherwise it is in very good condition. It measures 15” H X 11” W.

Vintage advertising sign for Alpo dog food. Metal. 35 1/2" X 24". Great condition.


Fixed handle basket in nice early color.  Really nice condition.  13 1/4" X 12 1/2". 14 1/4 to top of handle.


Large sugar bucket or firkin in originall green paint with a bit of touch up.  12" H X 12 1/4" at the base.  17" to top of handle.
